what's oneyplays?

oneyplays is a youtube letsplay channel where chris o'neill (known online as oneyng) plays video games with his friends, and they put together a few wisecracks every once in a while. almost everyone in the channel was an oldtime newgrounds user and they barely grew out of their humor, so as a result my brain mushed and mashed and rotted itself to giggle at their gross poop penis jokes but its okay im ok with that.

the first gaming videos that were uploaded to oneyplays was the dark souls series starting from may 26th, 2014. in 2016, dingdong and julian joined oneyplays as co-hosts. unfortunately, they left the channel around 2018 but oneyplays kept going with even more friends! some that are the most well known on the channel (at least imo) are zach, tomar, lyle, cory, and adam. and as of right now the channel is STILL GOING and has a LOT of fans

why do you like this?

it stemmed from my smiling friends obsession back in june-july 2024. the smiling friends and oneyplays community kind of overlap since zach hadel is involved in both, but i never looked into it until a few weeks after season 2 ended. the first video i fully watched and listened to was from their websplorers series, where they looked at weird stuff on reddit and talked about it. i was on a cruise ship to alaska where there was barely any internet, and my phone autodownloaded it so i ended up listening to it regularly during the entire trip, it’s a pretty funny video and it helped me get through that trip since i had horrible cramps and pain like 3 days after i boarded the ship.

after my vacation i ended up listening to various compilations and videos as background noise for when i was drawing. one thing led to another and now im very normal about 30 year old white men yaaayy! i actually hated being a fan for a while because at the time the only oneyplays fans i knew turned out to be actual weird assholes, and i didn’t want to be in the same boat as them. and then i realized the block button exists

• oneyplays made that fuckass crash bandicoot “woah” meme. and the “THEY HIT THE PENTAGON” audio and the toad and yoshi kissing image
• chris & most of his newgrounds friends previously held a podcast called sleepycast! and im glad its over
• the oneyplays wiki and reddit CANNOT be trusted if you want real genuine answers to your questions
• cory has a band called the third-rates! theyre very much worth listening to in my opinion winky face
• chris has had an interest for monkeys and other primates since childhood
• lyle and tomar were voice actors for class of 09; lyle especially has a big part in the game (rest in peace co09 i miss when the game was decent)
